3 alps ski resorts worth to visit in summer

Dolomites, Italy
Alps are a varied set of destinations and landscapes, which not only attract tourists during winter for the ski season. There are many reasons to travel to the extreme north of Italy in summer too, above all for hiking and trekking lovers, but also for who just wants to spend a different kind of holidays visiting small villages hiding their history behind high peaks.
Here are three of the most fascinating resorts of the Dolomites of Trentino region, north-east Italy.

Predazzo

Tourist resort of Val di Fiemme, at the confluence of the Rio Travignolo with the Avisio river, on the Dolomites.
Predazzo is also an industrial center of great importance for the processing of wood and local white marble (called "predazzite"). Interesting is the Museum of Geology and Ethnography at the "House of Tourism and Handicraft". Nearby there are Bellamonte and Paneveggio popular resorts of Val Travignolo, along the road that leads to Passo Rolle.

Corvara in Badia

In the upper part of the Val Badia, at the foot of the Sella Group in the Dolomites of South Tyrol, Corvara in Badia is subject of intense tourist movement in summer and winter, favored by good hotels and many sports facilities. Upstream are the Gardena Pass and Campolungo. The people speak the language "Ladin". There are plenty of walks that start from Corvara, including the Col Alto. From the top, near the shelter, you can enjoy a wonderful landscape of the Dolomites, the Sella group and the Marmolada.

Passo del Tonale

Located on the border between Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige, surrounded by the mountains Adamello - Presanella, Ortler Cevedale and Brenta, Passo del Tonale is a natural amphitheater and scenic open that unfolds from 1,884 to 3,100 meters above sea level. Winter resort of excellence, Passo del Tonale withe the Glacier Presena is always a guarantee for a long season of skiing. In summer instead it is the ideal starting point for walks, mountaineering and mountain biking along the route of the Adamello Bike Arena. The cable car Paradise that leads to the Glacier is also open during the summer months, at the disposal of the climbers and all those who want to try a hike in the mountains.
